Bedding Plants

Botany Bay has been growing bedding plants for over 30 years and they are still a big part of our nurseries production. Each year we grow over 4 million quality patio and basket plants, across hundreds of varieties. It only takes 2 minutes to bring plants down from our nursery into the sales area, so you can guarantee our plants are ‘Nursery Fresh’

Summer patio and basket plants are so versatile, they provide colour from late spring right through to the first frosts.They are ideal for beds, borders, patios, tubs, pots, hanging baskets and window boxes.Popular species are Impatien Bizzy Lizzy for their vibrant colours, Geraniums for the size of the flower heads and Nasturtium for their beauty and attraction for wildlife. Of course there are many more varieties such as Fuchsias, Begonias and Petunias that offer the spring and summer garden plenty of floral colour.

At Botany Bay Nurseries, Plant Centre & Wildlife Shop you can purchase your bedding plants in a number of ways;
  • Young bedding plant seedlings - seedlings grown ready to prick out or pot-on, into a heated glass house or conservatory. Available in February and March.
  • Pack or box bedding. Our range is ideal for bigger scale projects in the garden when you’ll need a quantity of the same plant, or hand select individual plants to create your own designer hanging basket or container. Available from early April.

August to October sees a new opportunity to create a display that will see you through the dullest of winters. Each year from late summer, you’ll see our growing team bringing bedding plants down from our nursery. The autumn favourites have to be the fragrant mini Cyclamen, Pansies, pretty Violas and Wallflowers to name but a few. Whatever the time of year keep your bedding plants well watered and liquid feed regularly. Dead-head regularly.
